Record sale for female Middle Eastern artist at Christie’s Dubai:

At Christie’s Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art sale, Fahr El Nissa Zeid breaks a new record with the work Break of the Atom and Vegetal Life (1962). The work fetched $2.7 million:  second highest price for a Middle-Eastern painting (after Parviz Tanavoli’s bronze sculpture The Wall (Oh Persepolis)) and highest price ever payed for a female artist from the Middle East!!
